Rusted guides drag on the curtain until it jams part way. Rusted slat ends catch and bend. Regular cleaning and lubrication slows it a lot, and we replace guides and slats that have gone too far.

Dented or rusted slats can often be replaced individually if they are a standard profile. When rust has spread through much of the curtain, or it is badly bent, a new curtain usually makes more sense than patching it.

We look at the curtain, guides and barrel together and tell you which way to go. A new curtain takes longer than slat repairs, which take a few hours.

A manual roll-up door that has become hard to lift or won't stay up usually has lost spring tension, or its guides are dirty or bent. Adjusting the tension and cleaning the guides fixes many doors.

When a motor hums but the curtain doesn't move, we look for a jam or a failed operator part. Manual doors with a sound curtain and barrel can often be motorized with safety controls.
